Curtis Robertson Jr. Devoted To Art, Presence, Care.
Born on Chicago’s South Side in the ‘50s, Curtis Robertson Jr. has lived a life shaped by rhythm, compassion, and community. He has devoted his life to the art of sound, and the practice of presence.
As a musician, bassist, guitarist, and songwriter, Curtis’s musical career has carried him all around the world. He’s toured, collaborated, and also shared the stage with many musical luminaries such as: Randy Crawford, Gladys Knight, Les McCann etc.
His music has always been a bridge—a way to connect heart to heart, across cultures and generations. This link has led Curtis to the work of healing and mindfulness, with the path running alongside his music.
A Registered Nurse by training, Certified Yoga Instructor, and End-of-Life Doula, Curtis trained with Alua Athur, under her ‘Going With Grace’ program. He also completed a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification, with world renowned instructors, Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. Curtis is a dedicated practitioner in the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh.
These callings all get woven together in Curtis’s dedication to all stages of life. His work reflects a deep commitment to presence, care, and honoring life’s sacred transitions.
Curtis continues to share his lifelong commitment to creativity, mindfulness, and service, whether through meditation, song, or as an End-of-Life Doula, he continues to bridge the arts and healing through his dedication and compassionate service.
